I am no scientist, but good friends with Jim Hansen. He has argued that solar and wind are not enough. We need to invest in 4th generation nuclear energy. But few want to go there. In my native country, Germany, they have abolished all nuclear energy production and as a result have increased coal and have become dependent on Russian gas. Right now that’s a huge problem!

Good Morning Dr. Krauss. I wanted to know your personal perspective on the simulation hypothesis which "proposes that all of existence might be a simulated reality, such as a computer simulation which convinces its inhabitants that the simulation is "real". What do you think? I read somewhere that they (i don't remember their name) believe that the ability of a quantum computer controlling reality.

I have written about this in my new book and in a few other places.. I don't see it as particularly useful or likely.. most simulations have pixels that don't work.. where the known laws break down.. don't see that in the universe.. more importantly it begs the question.. are the creators of the simulation in another simulation? Is it simulations all the way down?

Thanks Dr. Krauss. I remember some of this from your book and appreciate the extra explainer on how this will manifest with - but most likely without - reduced carbon emissions. Seems like the only way we might be able to do this and avoid catastrophic climate change is with some major advancements in carbon capture but I’m not especially optimistic
