I am very happy to report that The Origins Project Foundation public events, postponed from April 10,11, due to my mother’s passing, have now been rescheduled for November 15, 16, still at the Orpheum Theater. Tickets will go on sale again Monday, April 18, at 10 am PDT. You can go to the Orpheum theater box office site, or go to www.originsproject.org/events for a link.
Existing ticket holders don’t have to do anything. Your seats will remain the same, and your existing tickets will work. Those who, for one reason or another, are unable to attend during the new dates, will have 30 days to ask to have their tickets refunded. For those of you who were unable to attend in April, you can purchase tickets for the new dates and time starting on the 18th.
Special discounts are available for teachers and students.
Here is the brief description of the events:
November 15: Richard Dawkins in dialogue with me, and a special 10th anniversary screening of The Unbelievers
World renowned biologist, author, and science popularizer Richard Dawkins, fresh from the release of his newest book, Flights of Fancy, will have a dialogue with me onstage following a special 10th anniversary screening of the film The Unbelievers, along with new footage shot just for this event. Richard and I will discuss the book, the state of science, and how the world and the fight for science and reason has changed since The Unbelievers was filmed in 2012 and 2013. Special VIP tickets will be available that include signed copies of our latest books and a pre-event VIP reception.Â
November 16: Probing the Mysteries of the Universe.
Our understanding of the Universe has been revolutionized over the past 25 years as stunning new observations have opened new windows on the cosmos. I will moderate a panel that will include Nobel Laureate Barry Barish, who helped direct and build the LIGO gravitational wave observatory, theorist Michael Turner, who, in collaboration with me proposed the existence of dark energy, Alan Guth, the developer of Cosmic Inflation, and Neil deGrasse Tyson. In additional several additional special guests are expected to join the panel either onstage or beamed in from around the world. Stay tuned for future announcements. A must-see event for anyone interested in cutting edge science and astronomy. There will also be a special pre-event VIP reception that evening, and a meet-and-greet with the panelists.
Hope to see you in November in Phoenix!
I'll try to live long enough to attend. In the meantime I would enjoy (I think) listening to a conversation between you and Stuart Kauffman over his book, A World Beyond Physics.
