We then moved to the more general topic of NATO, and in particular decisions by Finland and Sweden to apply for membership, in spite of, as Sachs pointed out, the fact that Finland now ranks as #1 in the world in happiness and sustainability markers. Then we talked about Inflation, the current pressures, what is likely to happen, and historical antecedents, China, and our policy of sanctions, and finally Oil and Gas. The net result was a very sobering discussion which anyone interested in thinking about the near term and far term future of global geopolitics and economics will want to listen to.
