Today I’m announcing a brand new addition to my Substack publication: the Critical Mass subscriber chat.
This is a conversation space in the Substack app that I set up exclusively for my subscribers — kind of like a group chat or live hangout. I’ll periodically post short prompts, thoughts, and updates that come my way, and you can jump into the discussion. This is an experiment, so I will see how it works, and how potentially unwieldy it becomes. I don’t to get spammed, nor do I want my subscribers to feel that way.
I would also like to hear from you about subjects you might like me to post about, or people you might like to hear on the podcast, or possible locations and organizations we can partner with to run public events. I will try to check in from time to time
To join our chat, you’ll need to download the Substack app (messages are sent via the app, not email). Turn on push notifications so you don’t miss a chance to join conversation as it happens.
How to get started
Download the app by clicking this link or the button below. Chat is only on iOS for now, but chat is coming to the Android app soon.
Open the app and tap the Chat icon. It looks like two bubbles in the bottom bar, and you’ll see a row for my chat inside.
That’s it! Jump into my thread to say hi, and if you have any issues, check out Substack’s FAQ.
I’ve already started my first chat thread so come on over and say hello!
Hello Dr. Strauss
I am wondering if you can try to explain to me what space really is. The "fabric" of spacetime.
It is all around us, but can we "see" it. Can we measure it. If gravity is bending it, shouldnt we be able to see it?
Space is streching because of dark energy, but what is streching.
Thank you
Amazing idea. A key ingredient to learn is the healthy exchange of ideas.
