August Break 2023: Highlights from 4 Amazing Years.
Returned from Greenland, and am taking a new posting break in August to recharge. Look forward instead to two exciting "Best Of" releases this month.
Hi all. Summer is short on PEI and after an extended time away, I am hoping to recharge my batteries and spend time around the house, and also to start some new writing projects. With this in mind, I plan to avoid posting or writing on Critical Mass and all other social media outlets for the rest of the month. I can’t guarantee I will stay away, but hope to.
Nevertheless, we don’t want to leave Critical Mass subscribers in the lurch. For you, we are preparing two podcasts to celebrate 4 years of the Origins Podcast. We will release two “Best of the Origins Podcast” posts, with the first covering guests during the first two years of the podcast, and the second, the next two years. We hope this will give many of you a chance to relive the highlights from podcasts with some of the most remarkable scientists, artists, and writers on the planet, while allow those of you who are newer subscribers to experience tidbits from some fascinating conversations with fascinating individuals.
As we have reviewed our portfolio, I am overwhelmed that so many outstanding individuals agreed to sit down for comprehensive dialogues about their own life and work, and about the most important ideas in the 21st century. Nobel Laureates like Sheldon Glashow, David Gross, Andrea Ghez, Roger Penrose. John Mather, Kip Thorne, Barry Barish, and so many other distinguished scientists like Martin Rees, Andrei Linde, Alan Guth, and Andy Knoll, joined writers like Ian McEwan and Cormac McCarthy, filmmakers like Woody Allen and Werner Herzog, actors and writers like Ricky Gervais, Stephen Fry and William Shatner, and musician/scientists like Brian May, among a host of others.
Please enjoy the two ‘Best Of’ Podcasts. I look forward to returning with new content in September, and I hope you all have a wonderful August break, enjoying the summer if you are in the Northern Hemisphere, and wherever you are, staying safe and healthy. Thanks for your support of Critical Mass, which remains an essential part of allowing The Origins Project Foundation to continue its programming.
Dear Lawrence, enjoy your recharging. We are looking forward to see you at a Q&A session soon.
Yes sir. Get some rest.
